Largest Omelet

The World Record for making the ‘largest omelet’ in the world has been achieved by Câmara Municipal de Ferreira do Zêzere (Ferreira do Zêzere City Council, Portugal) from Santarém, Portugal.

On August 11, 2012 during this event, total number of egg used in making the omelet was 145,000 along with 880 lbs (about 400 kg) and 220 lbs (about 100 kg) of butter. The team size to make this record breaking omelet was 55 led by the head chef Pedro Mendes and it took 6 hours to completely cook. The weight of the omelet was 14225 lbs (6466 kg) having a diameter of 10.3 meters (33 feet 8 inches). The eggs were donated by the company Uno Ovo which is the largest egg producing company of Portugal. This omelet was made on the occasion of the festival called Immigrant Festival.

Previous World Records:

The World Record of ‘largest omelet’ in the world was achieved by the Turkish Egg Producers Association on October 11, 2010. The total number of eggs used in the omelet was 110,000 along with 432 liters of oil. The diameter of this omelet was 10 meters (32 feet, 9 inches).

The World Record for the ‘largest omelet’ in the world was achieved by the city of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa on October 9th, 2009 which weighed 3625 kg.

Largest Cardboard Castle

The World Record of ‘largest cardboard castle’ has been achieved by the students of Duke University at Durham, North Carolina, USA.

On September 26, 2013; at the campus of Duke University, largest cardboard castle was created. The total number of cardboard boxes used in creating the castle were Three Thousand Five Hundred (3500). The total height of the castle was 16 feet and the floor area occupied by the castle was 4900 square meters.

Largest Underwater Wedding

The World Record of ‘largest underwater wedding’ has been achieved by Ewa Staronska and Pawel Burkowski from Jaworzno, Poland.

On August 27, 2011; Three Hundred Three (303) divers attended the marriage ceremony of Ewa Staronska and Pawel Burkowski at the Koparki Diving Base. The wedding was also preceded by priest and licensed frogman. The wedding ceremony was organised by Orka Group Ltd.

Largest Cardboard Box

The World Record ‘largest cardboard box’ in the world has been achieved by the academic company Chegg.com from Pasadena, California, USA.

On September 19th, 2009; the dimensions of the record breaking cardboard box were a width of 6.12 meters (20 feet, 1.2 inches), a length of 14.05 meters (46 feet 1.2 inches) and a height of 2.75 meters (9 feet 0.3 inches). The total volume of the box was 236.9 cubic meters (8,362.51 cubic feet). The record was created at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California and was presented before an American Football match of the NCAA held between the teams of UCLA and Kansas State University.

Longest Bridge Made Out of Plastic Bottles

The World Record of ‘longest bridge made out of plastic bottles’ has been achieved by the City of Ely United Kingdom (UK).

The total length of the bridge was 36 meters (118.10 feet) and was built on river Ouse. The total number of bottles used in the construction of the bridge were Fourteen Thousand One Hundred (14100). They were all plastic milk bottles and were done with the co-operation of St Mary’s Primary School, Ely, the Isle of Ely Explorers at Sutton Gault and Witchford’s Rackham Primary School. The mayor of the city Ron Bradney was the first to cross the bridge. This bridge was a temporary structure and was created in order to create awareness about the need to recycle on the Annual Classic Regatta function of the city in 2008.

British Library is also the national library of the United Kingdom. The total number of books/informational items in this library is 170000000 (One Hundred Seventy Million). The total number of visitors in this library is about 1.75 Million per year. The library adds about 3 Million information items to its collection every year. The total staff of the library is about 2000. The library was established on July 1, 1973 following the British Library Act of 1972.
