What is A Record?

Record is proven information related to any person, organization or event. This valid information should be backed with evidence and can be measured and witnessed.

What is a World Record?

World Record is proven information related to any person, organization or event; if it is unique/ extraordinary/ special in some way or happening for the first time. A claimant must be able to prove this achievable, measurable, challengeable and recognizable incident with proper evidences. It may be a personal achievement or an incident.

How a World Record is Recognized?

There are few ways by which a record is recognized officially as World Record. Most common method is receiving a claim in which a person presents a claim to GBWR to recognize the attempt as world record. In some cases someone else also claims the record on behalf of a person/ incident, our research team also find something unique or extraordinary and recognizes it through honoris causa.

What is the process of becoming a World Record Holder (Attempting/ Breaking a Record)?

The record setting process consists of four steps:
1. Record Application
2. Approval from GBWR team
3. Record attempt following all the procedural guidelines
4. Sending the Claim Form along with evidence.
After you receive the confirmation along with your Claim ID; you need to follow the instructions mailed by GBWR.

What is the world record claim application Deadline?

You can submit the record claim any time after attempting the record; provided you must have all the evidences.

How long will it take for me to get a response to my record-Breaking Application?

It depends on the record process method selected by applicant’s.

Is there any service for fast processing my Application/ Claim?

Golden Book of World Records offers normal record processing in 2 to 3 months for existing record’s claim and 3-4 months for a record claim with a new title.

We also offer ‘Rapid Processing’; a priority processing service which ensures rapid processing of your World Record Claim within a month. You can request for ‘Rapid Processing Service’ (RPS) at any time. It costs additional $ 50. It is a priority processing service for the processing of record claim; it does not guarantee that claim is recognized as a World Record. We can not refund the RPS fee for unsuccessful applications.

How can I get on the spot recognition (OSR) of my world record attempt?

For On-the-Spot Recognition; Records Management Judge (RMJ) must attend your event and verify your record immediately. The additional charge of on-the-spot recognition ($ 175) along with the cost of stay, food and travelling of the adjudicator must be borne by the organizer/sponsor.

There are two types of forms on the website of GBWR; 'Record Application Form" and " Record Claim Form" which form I should submit?

 If you are planning to attempt a world record in future then you are supposed to fill the ‘Record Application Form’ and mail us. Our team will scrutinize it and mail you the ‘Record Specific Guideline’ which you need to follow at the time of the World Record attempt. This guideline would help you to ensure the attempt turn into a successful record attempt.

If you have already attempted a World Record (like collection of something); then you are supposed to fill the ‘Record Claim Form’ and mail us along with all evidences and witness statements for scrutiny and recognition.

Can I submit a Record on behalf of someone else?

Yes, but we accept the 3rd party record claims only in special cases. You need to complete all the formalities and provide all the evidence.

I am not finding my record on the website?

There are thousands of World Records in our database and these are counting on every day. We try to present a sufficient number of World Records in all categories online. If you have recently set/break a World Record then check the site regularly; your achievement should be online within 2-3 weeks after the approval. If still not found on the website then kindly inform us through email.

I have found an error i website, Should I inform you?

We always welcome our readers, visitor or aspirants’ views to update the World Records data. You are supposed to inform us the correction through email.

Can I use the Logo of Golden Book of World Records?

Yes, if you are a Golden Book of World Record holder then you can use the logo and word mark of GBWR. By becoming the Record holder of Golden Book of World record; you are taking on the responsibility of becoming our Brand Ambassador. We allow you to use the name and logo of GBWR at your visiting cards, websites, letter heads, advertisements, endorsements etc.

This is to be noted that only Golden Book of World Record holders are allowed to use the logo and wordmark of GBWR on an exclusive basis. Anybody else can not use it.

Does Golden Book of World Records pay there world record Setter/ Breaker?

Golden Book of World Records is an independent World Records keeping authority. Our role is just to verify a claim and certify it as a World Record in GBWR.
We do neither pay a World Record setter/breaker for their personal achievement nor provide any direct or indirect financial assistance.

Do all the Successfully attempted records are published on the website?

Golden Book of World Records works through an online portal which is updated every day for the convenience of the visitors and aspirants. We try to keep all the records on the website which are liked/most browsed by the people. Recently we have started the previous World Record holder section and we are keeping the name of a World Record Holder forever in our official website (current as well as previous world record holders).

How much do I have to pay when I make my record attempt?

There is no charge for attempting the record. But if your attempt is successful and you want to have the ‘World Record holder’s Kit’; then you need to pay record processing charge as per category (individual $ 75, organization & NPO $ 175 and corporates & government $ 250) for it. ‘World Record holder’s Kit’ contains official Certificate of your achievement along with a T-shirt, Stickers and Badge of Golden Book of World Records.

Is it Necessary to invite a judge/ Adjudicator for world record approval?

No, it’s not necessary. You can send video recording and photographs with all required documents to our office for record approval. You need to invite the Records Management Judge (RMJ) only for on-the-spot recognition.

Can I checked last attempted records detail on your website?

We do provide the details of most of the records on the website; which are successfully attempted till date.

I am a GBWR Record holder, Recently I myself broke my own record . Do I need to apply as new record and pay full processing fees?

You can upgrade your previous World Record by submitting the Claim Form along with required evidences. We will upgrade your record after screening the add on of your previous World Record. A new certificate would be issued for your achievement.
