World’s Highest Civilian Airport

The World Record of ‘world’s highest civilian airport’ has been achieved by Daocheng Yading airport of China.

Daocheng Yading is the world’s highest civilian airport; located at 4411 meter (14472 feet) above sea level. It has a 4200-meter-long runway, 8796-square-meter terminal and four aircraft parking stands. The airport has been opened on Sept 16, 2013. The first flight was Air China flight 4215 from the provincial capital Chengdu.

Previous world Record:

The World Record of ‘world’s highest civilian airport’ was achieved by Qamdo Bamda Airport at 4,334 m (14,219 ft).
