The World Record of ‘tallest statue’ in the world has been achieved by the statue of Spring Temple Buddha from Lushan county, Pingdingshan, Henan province China.
The statue depicts the Vairocana Buddha. The total height of the structure is 128 meters (480 feet). The structure comprises of two sub-structures other than the main human figure which stands on top of them. They include a lotus throne which is 20 meters (66 feet) tall which is placed on a pedestal. Thus the total height of the full structure is 153 meters (502 feet).
Previous World Records:
The World Record of ‘tallest statue’ in the world was achieved by the statue of Laykyun Setkyar from Monywa, Sagaing Division, Burrma. The statue depicts the Buddha. The total height of the structure is 116 meters (381 feet) standing on a base of 13.5 meters (44 feet), thus totaling the height to 130 meters (427 feet).
The World Record of ‘tallest statue’ in the world was achieved by the statue of Ushiku Daibutsu depicting the Amitabha Buddha. This statue is located at Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan and has a height of 110 meters (360 feet) including the lotus throne and base pedestal.
