The World Record of growing ‘tallest cactus plant’ has been achieved by SDM College of Dental Sciences from Dharwad, Karnataka, India.

The world’s tallest cactus plant has been grown in SDM College of Dental Sciences premises near Sattur in Dharwad, The height of the plant is measured to be Seventy Seven (77) feet. The scientific name of this cactus is Cereus Peruvianus. This cactus was planted on Aug 15, 2002; is still growing. There is a 3.9 degree angle of the stem with the tuft of spines which are present in the ridges.
