The World Record “most women passengers travelled in state transport buses (multiple locations)” has been achieved by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporations from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

During Jun 11, 2023 – Jul 20, 2025; Five Billion Forty Nine Million Four Hundred Seventy Six Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen (5049476416) women passengers have travelled by state transport buses of KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC.

Mr. Ramalinga Reddy (Minister of Transport, Govt. of Karnataka) led the ‘Shakti Scheme’ aimed to empower women by enhancing their mobility.
