The World Record ‘most number of plastic bottles collected in 24 hours’ has been collectively achieved by the students of Sugg Middle, Braden River High, Nolan Middle and Braden River Middle School from Brandenton, Florida, USA.
On April 2, 2010; the event was the culmination of a yearlong recycling campaign. The total number of plastic bottles collected in the drive was Sixty Five Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy (65970). The event was organized in anticipation of the Earth Day. The record breaking event highlighted the importance of recycling and the hazards of using excessive synthetic and plastic materials in the modern daily lifestyle. The collected bottles were sent to the Recorce Rcovey Center system of Sarasota.
Previous World Record:
The World Record of ‘most number of plastic bottles collected in 24 hours’ was achieved by the students of Discovery Elementary. They collected total 40,000 bottles.
