The World Record of ‘largest living structure of the world’ has been achieved by The Great Barrier Reef from Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living structure on Earth, and is visible from even outer space. It is the world’s largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 kilometres over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres. The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s biggest single structure made by living organisms. This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. The ecosystem comprises thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands made of over 600 types of hard and soft coral. It supports a wide diversity of life. It is the home for numerous species of colourful fish, molluscs, starfish, turtles, dolphins, sharks etc.
The World Record of ‘largest push pin mosaic’ has been achieved by Mr. Djamal Amrouche from Boumerdas, Algeria.
On October 12, 2015; Mr. Amrouche made the largest mosaic with Twenty Two Thousand Four Hundred (22400) push pins of different colors depicting Fadhma n’ Soume.
The World Record of ‘largest collection of horse memorabilia’ has been achieved by Mr. Marcel Kato from Kampala, Uganda.
Till April 23, 2015, Mr. Kato has a collection of Two Thousand One Hundred Ninety One (2191) Horse memorabilia which includes models, toys, Philatelic material, stickers, photographs, books, wall hangings, pen holders, night lamp show pieces, posters, chess pieces etc.
