The World Record of ‘oldest to earn doctorate’ has been achieved by Dr. Surajmal Jain Bobra (83 years 7 months) from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

On Jan 05, 2017; The Open International University for Complementary Medicine, Colombo has awarded the degree of PhD to Dr. Jain at the age of 83 years 7 months.

The World Record of ‘delivering most number of preaching’ has been achieved by H. H. 108 Bhavi Acharya Lalji Maharaj Shree Nrigendraprasadji from Vadtal, Gujarat, India.

Till the date March 12, 2014; Bhavi Acharya Shree of Shree Swaminarayan Sampraday, Shree Laxminarayan Dev Gaddi has delivered Eleven Thousand (11000) preaches during various programmes in 30 years.

The World Record ‘largest number of couplets written by a person’ has been achieved by Dr. Om Joshi from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Till the date Feb 22, 2014; Dr. Joshi has written Five Hundred Nine Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Eight (509698) couplets in Hindi language.

*Couplet is a special type of poem.

Most Number of Tennis Balls Held in one Hand for More Than a Minute

The World Record for the most number of tennis balls held in one hand for more than one minute has been achieved by Narayan Timalsina of Palpa, Nepal. Narayan achieved the above said feat at an event organized by the Press Chautari Nepal Chapter at Tansen, Nepal on April 7th, 2013.

Narayan held a record number of 24 tennis balls in his right hand for more than one minute (precisely one and a half minute).

Previous World Records:

The World Record for the most number of tennis balls held in one hand for more than a minute has been achieved by Silvio Sabba of Poiltello, Italy. Silvo held 22 tennis balls for more than a minute to set the record.

The World Record for the most number of tennis balls held in one hand for more than a minute has been achieved by Alfred Santosa. Alfred held 19 tennis balls for a little over a minute at Cancun, Mexico.

Most People Singing National Anthem Simultaneously at a Single Location

The world record, most people singing a national anthem simultaneously at a single location has been achieved by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Government of Bangladesh and the Armed Forces Division at Dhaka, Bangladesh.

On March 26, 2014; a total of Two Hundred Fifty-four Thousand Five Hundred Thirty-seven (254,537) participants sang the national anthem of Bangladesh at National parade ground. In the event ‘Lakho Konthe Sonar Bangla’; participants sang the national anthem of the nation namely ‘Amar shonar Bongla, ami tume balobashi’.

Previous World Records:

The world record, most people singing a national anthem simultaneously at a single location was achieved by the participants of Punjab Youth Festival from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. On October 20, 2012; a total of Forty Two Thousand Eight Hundred Thirteen (42,813) participants sang the national anthem of Pakistan at the National Hockey Stadium. The participants sang the national anthem of Pakistan namely the ‘Qaumi Tarana’.

The world record, most people singing a national anthem simultaneously at a single location was achieved by Lokmat Media Ltd, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. On January 25, 2012; a total of Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Forty-three (15,243) participants sang the national anthem of India at the Divisional Sports Ground, Aurangabad. The participants sang the national anthem of India namely ‘Jan Gan Man’.

The world record, most people singing a national anthem simultaneously at a single location was achieved by the participants of Pakistan. On August 14, 2011; Five Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty-five (5,885) participants sang the national anthem of Pakistan on the occasion of 65th Independence Day of the nation.

The world record, most people singing a national anthem simultaneously at a single location was achieved by the participants of Philippines. On September 1, 2009; Five Thousand Two Hundred Forty-eight (5,248) participants sang the national anthem Philippines namely the ‘Lupang Hinirang’.

The World Record of ‘collecting unique digit currency notes matching the dates of centuries made by Sachin Tendulkar’ has been achieved by Mr. Raj Kishore Mahanta from Keonjhar, Odisha, India.

As on March 12, 2014; Mr. Mohanta has collection of ten rupees currency notes with the note number as per the dates of all Hundred centuries made by veteran cricket player Sachin Tendulkar.
