The World Record of ‘longest distance flown in a balloon by an individual’ has been achieved by Mr. Steve Fossett from USA.

On July 04; Mr. Fossett completed successful 33195.1 km (20,627 mile) circumnavigation of the world in Bud Light Spirit of Freedom.
